In December 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Winter Portrait with Wet Road by John Wonnacott. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,442.50 (€ 3,845.58), 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wonnacott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait With Electric Light Bulb in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 80,133.28).

Im Dezember 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Portrait with Wet Road von John Wonnacott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.442,50 (€ 3.845,58) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wonnacott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Portrait With Electric Light Bulb im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.000,00 (€ 80.133,28).
