Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Durham Cathedral by John Glover. The price achieved of GBP 241,250.00 (€ 288,930.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Glover have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ben Lomond from Mr Talbot's property -- four Men catching Opossums in September 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,741,875.00 (€ 2,082,142.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Durham Cathedral von John Glover zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 241.250,00 (€ 288.930,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Glover auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ben Lomond from Mr Talbot's property -- four Men catching Opossums im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.741.875,00 (€ 2.082.142,27).
