Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II, which included the work View of a castle and figures by John Glover. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,321.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Glover achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ben Lomond from Mr Talbot's property -- four Men catching Opossums in September 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,741,875.00 (€ 2,082,142.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of a castle and figures von John Glover zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.321,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Glover erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ben Lomond from Mr Talbot's property -- four Men catching Opossums im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.741.875,00 (€ 2.082.142,27).
