In July 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection, which included the work Half An Hour After Sunset After A Stormy Day by John Glover. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,941.08), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Glover achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ben Lomond from Mr Talbot's property -- four Men catching Opossums in September 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,741,875.00 (€ 2,082,142.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Half An Hour After Sunset After A Stormy Day von John Glover zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.941,08) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Glover erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ben Lomond from Mr Talbot's property -- four Men catching Opossums im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.741.875,00 (€ 2.082.142,27).
