Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Rainy Day In December - Pelham Street, Lunenburg, N.S. changed hands for CAD 14,400.00 (€ 10,339.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tropic of Cancer in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 74,978.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little konnte im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tropic of Cancer im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 74.978,58).
