Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Une Journée Estival Sic, Avenue Coloniale, Mtl. by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little. The price achieved of CAD 14,400.00 (€ 10,494.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tropic of Cancer in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 74,978.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Une Journée Estival Sic, Avenue Coloniale, Mtl. von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 14.400,00 (€ 10.494,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tropic of Cancer im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 74.978,58).
