Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lake George (Adirondack Mountains) by John Frederick Kensett was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 350,000.00 (€ 317,633.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Frederick Kensett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Entrance to Newport Harbor, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 1,248,000.00 (€ 1,053,876.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lake George (Adirondack Mountains) von John Frederick Kensett wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 317.633,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
