In July this year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Ducks with ducklings on a pond by John Frederick Herring Senior. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,120.00 (€ 5,973.49), 71% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Herring Senior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Start for the Derby, 1834 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,105,600.00 (€ 1,632,212.62).

Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ducks with ducklings on a pond von John Frederick Herring Senior zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.120,00 (€ 5.973,49) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Herring Senior erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Start for the Derby, 1834 im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.105.600,00 (€ 1.632.212,62).
