Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Colonel Andrew Nugent's hunter, with a pointer and setter in a wooded landscape by John Ferneley, Sen.. It changed hands for a price of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 21,035.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ferneley, Sen. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silver firs at Osberton in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 692,000.00 (€ 1,018,324.83).
