Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A Bay Hunter In An Extensive Landscape by John Ferneley, Jnr. for USD 2,390.00 (€ 1,897.28). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ferneley, Jnr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Full Cry: Captain White hunting with the Quorn, with Hoby Church and Brooksby Hall in the distance in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 35,850.00 (€ 38,387.41).
