Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Near Leamington, Warwick by John Faulkner. The price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,474.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Faulkner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crookhaven, Co. Cork in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,861.17).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.474,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Faulkner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crookhaven, Co.
