Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A drover and cattle in a Scottish landscape by John Faulkner was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 537.75 (€ 812.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Faulkner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Crookhaven, Co. Cork in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,861.17).
