In the American Paintings auction, the work Strawberries, Cake and Cream changed hands for USD 78,000.00 (€ 58,819.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by John F. Francis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).
