In January this year a collector was able to acquire the work Strawberries and Cream by John F. Francis for USD 22,680.00 (€ 20,887.82). This price was achieved in the auction From Peale to Peto: American Masters from the Pollack Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John F. Francis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).
