Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life With Cherries, Glass And Currants by John F. Francis for USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,725.47). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John F. Francis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).
