Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Apples And Chestnuts by John F. Francis. The price achieved of USD 28,000.00 (€ 19,353.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John F. Francis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).

Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Apples And Chestnuts von John F. Francis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 28.000,00 (€ 19.353,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John F. Francis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.500,00 (€ 269.056,69).
