In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Woman Knitting sold for USD 16,800.00 (€ 13,241.90) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Edward Costigan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep at the Brook, which sold at auction in September 2011 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,530.30).
