The price achieved of USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,305.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Edward Costigan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep at the Brook in September 2011 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,530.30).
