Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Mrs. Arabella Graham-Clarke (1755-1827), Half-Length, Seated, Wearing A High-Necked White Dress And Lace-Trimmed Mob Cap, A Landscape With Windmills Beyond by John Downman was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 1,018.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Downman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Henry Frederick Bouverie And His Sister in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 73,857.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Mrs. Arabella Graham-Clarke (1755-1827), Half-Length, Seated, Wearing A High-Necked White Dress And Lace-Trimmed Mob Cap, A Landscape With Windmills Beyond von John Downman kam im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
