Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1790 by John Downman was sold in the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,470.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Downman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Henry Frederick Bouverie And His Sister in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 73,857.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1790 von John Downman wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.470,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Downman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Henry Frederick Bouverie And His Sister im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 96.000,00 (€ 73.857,52).
