Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Scillonian Head by John Craxton was worth GBP 11,970.00 (€ 13,198.87) to a buyer in September 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Made in Britain at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Craxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 343,300.00 (€ 399,542.10).
