Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of David 'Tivvy' Simpson by John Craxton was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,485.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Craxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 343,300.00 (€ 399,542.10).
