Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Coplans could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II auction, the work Self Portrait: Torso With Large Upper Arm Ii changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 849.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Coplans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,379.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Coplans konnte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II wechselte die Arbeit Self Portrait: Torso With Large Upper Arm Ii für USD 1.000,00 (€ 849,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Coplans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.379,87).
