Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Peppers (Two Women) by John Coplans for USD 625.00 (€ 530.83). This price was achieved in the auction The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Coplans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,379.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Peppers (Two Women) von John Coplans für USD 625,00 (€ 530,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Coplans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.379,87).
