Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait (Feet, 8 Panels, No.1) by John Coplans was auctioned at Phillips in 19 - in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,032.00 (€ 2,032.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Coplans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,379.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait (Feet, 8 Panels, No.1) von John Coplans kam im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 19 - zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.032,00 (€ 2.032,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Coplans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.379,87).
