Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selected studies, 1941-1947 by John Collier was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2011. The price achieved of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,312.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Collier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sleeping Beauty in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 547,642.53).

Die Arbeit Selected studies, 1941-1947 von John Collier kam im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.312,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Collier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sleeping Beauty im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 547.642,53).
