Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Pope Urban VI by John Collier for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,883.29). This price was achieved in the auction Face Time: People in Art through the Ages at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Collier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sleeping Beauty in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 547,642.53).
