Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2013 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Thought To Be Mrs Geoffrey Pynam Of Guildford, Seated, In A Green Dress by John Collier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,626.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Collier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sleeping Beauty in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 547,642.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Thought To Be Mrs Geoffrey Pynam Of Guildford, Seated, In A Green Dress von John Collier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.626,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Collier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sleeping Beauty im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 547.642,53).
