Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Australian Art Online, which included the work Snake, 1999 by John Coburn. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 861.00 (€ 522.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Coburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Icon, 1970 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 387,450.00 (€ 343,271.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Australian Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Snake, 1999 von John Coburn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 861,00 (€ 522,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Coburn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Icon, 1970 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 387.450,00 (€ 343.271,02).
