Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping Off A Coast, With One Flying The Royal Standard, Another With A Vice Admiral Of The Red, Another With A Rear Admiral Of The Blue by John Cleveley the Elder was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 45,000.00 (€ 52,612.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate.
