In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work House, Tree And Pond; Necklace Of Stars; And The Holy City by John Christopherson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 750.00 (€ 1,019.12), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Christopherson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moonlit Grove 2 55 x 43cm (21 5/8 x 16 15/16in) unframed, which sold at auction in April this year for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,632.71).
