This artwork by John Christopherson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2007. In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction, the work Fireworks In A Garden; Pinetree And Moon (1); Landscape With Winding Path; Male Musician; And Flowers In A Jug sold for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,698.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Christopherson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moonlit Grove 2 55 x 43cm (21 5/8 x 16 15/16in) unframed, which sold at auction in April this year for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,632.71).
