Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work Atavistic Landscape by John Christopherson. The price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 1,019.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Christopherson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moonlit Grove 2 55 x 43cm (21 5/8 x 16 15/16in) unframed, which sold at auction in April this year for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,632.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Atavistic Landscape von John Christopherson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 1.019,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Christopherson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Moonlit Grove 2 55 x 43cm (21 5/8 x 16 15/16in) unframed beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.632,71) versteigert wurde.
