Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Druid’s Cluster (Swish) by John Chamberlain for GBP 330,200.00 (€ 379,161.34). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale at Phillips in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 350,000.00 – 450,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Chamberlain achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nutcracker in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,534,300.00 (€ 4,742,330.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Druid’s Cluster (Swish) von John Chamberlain für GBP 330.200,00 (€ 379.161,34) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 350.000,00 – 450.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Chamberlain erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nutcracker im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.534.300,00 (€ 4.742.330,76).
