Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Columbia County, New York by John Bunyan Bristol was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,062.50 (€ 716.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bunyan Bristol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape with Church in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,287.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Columbia County, New York von John Bunyan Bristol im April 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.062,50 (€ 716,89) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bunyan Bristol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape with Church im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.287,65).
