Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Surrey Hills, Summer by John Brack. The price achieved of AUD 66,000.00 (€ 38,802.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Brack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Old Time in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 3,360,000.00 (€ 2,066,001.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Surrey Hills, Summer von John Brack zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 66.000,00 (€ 38.802,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Brack erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Old Time im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 3.360.000,00 (€ 2.066.001,64).
