The work Halt by John Brack was sold in the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 323,000.00 (€ 194,275.90), 15% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Brack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Old Time in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 3,360,000.00 (€ 2,066,001.64).

Die Arbeit Halt von John Brack wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 323.000,00 (€ 194.275,90) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Brack erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Old Time im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 3.360.000,00 (€ 2.066.001,64).
