In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES, which included the work A lady, full face in white dress with pleated collar, gold tie-pin, black ribbon choker tied in a bow, elaborate lace headdress in her upswept and powdered hair by John Bogle. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,747.65), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Bogle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A boy, in blue coat with gold buttons, yellow waistcoat with blue stripes, frilled white shirt with frilled collar open at neck, long curling fair hair in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 12,252.26).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.747,65) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
