The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,918.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bagnold Burgess achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Meeting of East and West in October 2003 with an auction result of USD 69,310.00 (€ 59,703.68).
