In the PORTRAITS, BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS auction, the work The Belle Of The Village changed hands for GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,297.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bagnold Burgess achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Meeting of East and West in October 2003 with an auction result of USD 69,310.00 (€ 59,703.68).
