Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Working the land by Johannes Tavenraat was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2003. The price achieved of EUR 1,434.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,200.00 – 1,600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Tavenraat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A figure resting in the shade of a large oak tree, which sold at auction in March 2011 for EUR 3,750.00.
