Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Der Turm der Männer by Johannes Molzahn was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,730.69). Admittedly, works by Johannes Molzahn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Musik in June 2012 with an auction result of EUR 154,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Der Turm der Männer von Johannes Molzahn im Februar 2009 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.730,69) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Molzahn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Musik im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 154.800,00.
