Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Smile by Johannes Kahrs was auctioned at Phillips in London in February 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,890.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Kahrs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work O.T. (Schmerz) in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 180,000.00 (€ 258,491.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Smile von Johannes Kahrs kam im Februar 2014 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.890,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Kahrs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit O.T. (Schmerz) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 180.000,00 (€ 258.491,84).
