In March 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art, which included the work Dutch Dutch And British Boats On Choppy Waters by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,131.44), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work De gestrande boot: a beached three-master with beachcombers along the shore in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 257,444.00 (€ 123,564.63).

Im März 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch Dutch And British Boats On Choppy Waters von Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.131,44) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit De gestrande boot: a beached three-master with beachcombers along the shore im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 257.444,00 (€ 123.564,63).
