Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Picking flowers in the The Hague Forest by Johannes Evert Hendrik Akkeringa was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,040.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Evert Hendrik Akkeringa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In de vakantiedagen: children playing on the beach in summer in October 2005 with an auction result of EUR 74,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Picking flowers in the The Hague Forest von Johannes Evert Hendrik Akkeringa im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.040,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Evert Hendrik Akkeringa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In de vakantiedagen: children playing on the beach in summer im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 74.400,00.
