Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Artistic admiration by Johannes Cornelius Mertz was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,075.50 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Cornelius Mertz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The seamstresses, which sold at auction in October 2009 for EUR 3,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Artistic admiration von Johannes Cornelius Mertz wurde im Oktober 2004 in der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.075,50 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
