Verspronck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 67,339.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Cornelisz. Verspronck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Jean le Gouche (1588-1669), half-length, in a brown coat and lace collar, holding a hat in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 880,000.00 (€ 644,216.69).
