Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of François Dermout, Seated; Portrait Of His Wife Cornelia Hammius, Seated, With A Quill In Her Hand by Johannes Cornelisz. Verspronck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 67,339.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Cornelisz. Verspronck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Jean le Gouche (1588-1669), half-length, in a brown coat and lace collar, holding a hat in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 880,000.00 (€ 644,216.69).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of François Dermout, Seated; Portrait Of His Wife Cornelia Hammius, Seated, With A Quill In Her Hand von Johannes Cornelisz. Verspronck kam im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 67.339,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Cornelisz. Verspronck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Jean le Gouche (1588-1669), half-length, in a brown coat and lace collar, holding a hat im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 880.000,00 (€ 644.216,69).
