Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Johannes Bronckhorst could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Drawings including French Masterworks from the Dormeuil Collection auction, the work A Garland Of Flowers, Tied To A Ring With A Blue Ribbon changed hands for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,284.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Bronckhorst - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four sheets of studies showing different species of tropical marine fish, including two species of blenny and a butterfly fish (no. 1); a grunt, a parrotfish and a banded butterfly fish (no. 2); a grouper, marbled grouper and butterfly fish (no. 3);, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,822.12
