In May 2014 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art, which included the work A wicker basket with white and blue grapes, peaches, an apple and vine leaves on a stone ledge together with plums, a libelle, a lizard, a butterfly and other fruits by Johannes Bosschaert. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 103,500.00 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Bosschaert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blumen in einer Vase, which sold at auction in May this year for EUR 226,800.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wicker basket with white and blue grapes, peaches, an apple and vine leaves on a stone ledge together with plums, a libelle, a lizard, a butterfly and other fruits von Johannes Bosschaert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 103.500,00 und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Bosschaert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blumen in einer Vase beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für EUR 226.800,00 versteigert wurde.
