Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Still Life With Apples, Pears, Grapes And Other Fruits In A Chinese Porcelain Bowl On A Ledge Alongside A Melon, Some Artichokes And Some Flowers by Johannes Bosschaert. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 42,749.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Bosschaert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blumen in einer Vase in May this year with an auction result of EUR 226,800.00.
